More Zeroes
Many of us, if not most of us, take zeroes for granted.
Everyday, we deal with numbers, and everyday, we'll encounter the zero. We use it without even thinking, without pondering what in the world does a zero mean.
In maths, zeroes are used in many ways, usually as trailing zeroes behind numbers to signify the value (e.g. 100, 1000, 10000). But when a number substracts a number of it's own value, we are left with nothing, and we represent nothing, with a zero. Interesting eh?
A zero is the abstract representative of nothing.
Or if you want to, you could say a zero is the avatar of non-existence. Like it or not, we human beings live in a rich world that exists. We have not experienced, we have not even come into contact with true nothingness. We can come up with ideas of it (black holes, space voids, etc), but the fact is, once God created the heavens and the Earth, non-existence just did not exist anymore!
So, being unfamiliar with nothingness, but yet needing something to represent it, we use a zero. 6 - 6 = 0. I have six doughnuts, and I eat it all, I am left with no doughnuts. I am left with nothing. You see, zero has no value at all, but yet we cannot live without it! How paradoxical.
Imagine a world without zeroes. Fact is, we cannot imagine it, because we have not had any experience without zero! (People who lived before the advancement of mathematics probably might, though, but not us). We need zeroes. Fascinating.
It makes me wonder, what is human, that they use something to represent nothing?
Why do they build idols, to represent deities that are not there? Deities that are nothing, non-existent?
And yet reject the opposite, because our God, who exists, chooses not to represent Himself in any concrete form, save as man himself. Curious, indeed.
Why do human beings accept representing nothing with something, and reject representing something with nothing?

Plus point:
Human beings like heroes. They hate zeroes.
We need to be zeroes. For when man is nothing, then can God be his everything.
People have always liked zero to hero stories. It's time we had some hero to zero ones. (lol, get the pun? zero ones, lol!)
